The Ross-shire Camanachd Association has been in existence since 1920 and was formed with a view to fostering the game of shinty in the old County of Ross and Cromarty. Teams from Tain, Conon Bridge, Dingwall, Caberfeidh, Strathcarron and Garve came to take part.
Shortly after the second World War the emphasis has been on supporting youth shinty, in respect running the anual Six-a-side Tournament, and in recent years the Valerie Olivant Trophy Tournament.
